Want to stay in a pretty village, in a unique house that’s ‘different to the norm’ and enjoy a memorable seaside holiday? If the answer is “Yes”, then come and spend some quality time in this spectacular Pavilion house (formerly the home of Sandsend’s Tennis Club). With its tennis court-sized lawn and splendid garden/sea-facing patio, one can easily imagine its past history. The house provides a fabulous base for families/friends to enjoy some holiday time or celebrate a special event.
With the house accommodating TEN guests, providing five comfortable double bedrooms with GARDEN and SEA VIEWS (3 en suite and 2 shower/bath) this offers a great choice to those wishing to holiday together who can also enjoy the important facility of their own private bathroom facilities. Two bedrooms are located on the ground floor, making this property an ideal choice for visitors with mobility issues requiring disabled access (please call in advance of booking to discuss).
The contemporary lounge offers comfortable seating for ten visitors, with coffee tables, 40" flatscreen Freeview TV with Sky Sports/Entertainment (satellite) plus DVD player, PS3 & 2 with a selection of games. In the hall there’s a small library of books, videos and outdoor games. The kitchen/diner and utility room include all the necessary equipment for a fabulous home-from-home stay, including a large white gloss table and 10 chairs for enjoying meals together.
The Pavilion is situated in a quiet spot away from the main road, but is only 100 metres walk to the lovely beach and all the amenities that Sandsend offers, including excellent, highly reputable restaurants, cafes, a very charming local pub, Sandsend Stores, a beach shop (with surf school) and gift shop, all within easy walking distance. The beach is set against a backdrop of grassy cliffs where the wide sweep of Whitby’s very own beach ends. Two small becks flow across the sands. At low tide time, this is a fabulous place for fossil hunting.
Sandsend is only a short drive to the historic fishing port of Whitby (2 miles south/10 minutes’ drive), or why not leave the car and enjoy an exhilarating 2.5 miles coastal walk at low tide from Sandsend? Whitby is a ‘must visit’ and beckons visitors with its very own Abbey, 199 steps, connections with Captain Cook, Bram Stoker (‘Dracula’), Whitby Jet, fish & chips and a whole array of unique, independent shops to wander around. There are clusters of pretty coastal and moorland villages nearby, all waiting to be explored. Take a trip to the North York Moors and enjoy the spectacular, breath-taking scenery which can be advantageously viewed by hopping on board a steam train at the North Yorkshire Moors Railway (famous for its ‘Heartbeat’ and ‘Harry Potter’ connections.
